Outrageous Strawberry Hanging Basket Care
Hanging strawberry plants except the Alpine varieties need a good six to eight hours of full sun a day for optimal fruit production.
Strawberry hanging basket care. Sweet Colossus is a traditional June bearing strawberry so will yield most of its bountiful harvest in early summer. Seed takes too long to produce and roots simply guarantee success. They are easy to install very attractive and hold our planter boxes very well.

The conical berries are sweet and juicy and often weigh more than 40g each. Instructions on how to expand the soil and plant the basket are included as well. Fruit should be harvested as soon as berries are red if possible in dry weather taking care to leave the green stalk in place once fruit is picked.
Our kit comes with a 12 inch diameter hanging planter an 18 inch hanger compressed soil and 20 bare root strawberry plants 10 each of Pineberry and Quinault instead of seed. Most strawberry plants put out runner plants. We have hanging planters for every gardener from easy fill baskets to traditional metal hanging baskets.
The only exception to this is when you use strong-growing plants such as Fuchsias and Geraniums Pelargoniums. The soil in pots is quicker to freeze than the better-insulated soil of Terra Firma.
